Spring has finally sprung....a little

There is no shortage of farmland in our neck of the woods. We have prairie and flat  fields as far as the eye can see.  Across the road is a tree row and "pond" which amounts to some water from the melted snow that is still standing in the field. We get over there often to walk through the mud , collect shells that are left from last years standing water and explore in the trees. The girls and the dogs come home muddy and tired.

Stuck

The driveway was drifted in this morning- again.  I was on my knees digging out the car when 3 deer skittered down the road not 15 feet from me.  Maybe they sensed I was as helpless as I felt.  More likely they didn't want to plow through deep snow either so risked running past me on the road.  I paused and watched them blowing steam out their nostrils and slipping around on tiny black hooves. Suddenly I didn't mind digging through the drift anymore.

As long as you both shall live

Travis's grandparents. I love them. My heart ached today but I was also shown a lifetime of life and faithfulness. Wiley has been sick for 6 months. He has lost the use of his legs and lives in a nursing home, Barb sits with him every day. She makes sure he has his favorite foods to eat and she moves his legs when he is in pain.  They are a true example of what marriage is and what it means to persevere.

Christmas 2013

Ella bought me this lamp with her own money. She was so proud of herself.  It was no small feat considering it was $49.99 and she is 8. It was all the money she had in the world. She has a big, giving, and selfless heart. One of the many things I love about her
